Hello and welcome…
Music has been at the heart of my life for over four decades - as a learner, teacher, mentor and researcher. At David Barton Music, I offer a thoughtful, student-centred approach to music education, shaped by 25 years of private teaching and a deep belief in music as a lifelong practice.
I work with children, teenagers and adults who want to develop confidence, musicianship and a meaningful relationship with music - whether they are returning after many years, starting later than expected or seeking a gentler alternative to exam-driven learning.
Alongside teaching flute, piano and singing from my home-based studio in Lichfield, Staffordshire, I also mentor private music teachers who are longing for a more creative, reflective and sustainable way of working - one that places curiosity and musical growth at the centre.
