Reviews Policy

I am always happy to consider sheet music, books, creative resources, and other relevant products for independent review. My aim is to share new publications and materials with a wider audience; however, please note the following:

Relevance

I can only review items that fit with the themes and audience of this website. If a submission is not suitable, I reserve the right not to feature it.

Selection

I cannot guarantee to review everything I receive. This is due both to time and space constraints, and to the need to feature items most likely to interest my readers.

Timelines

There is often a backlog of items awaiting review. I cannot commit to a specific publication date for reviews, and only a limited number can be featured at any one time.

Seasonal Items

If your submission is clearly seasonal (e.g. Christmas), please ensure it reaches me well in advance if you hope for it to be featured at the appropriate time.

Review Copies

I will need to see a copy of anything you wish to submit. For printed publications, this must be a physical copy rather than a PDF.

Basis of Review

Reviews are written only on the basis of what I receive. If additional explanation or background is needed, please provide it; however, please bear in mind that if something is unclear to me, it may also be unclear to potential customers.

Independence

Reviews are independent and represent my honest opinion. I do not accept payment or commission for reviews.

No Pre-Approval

Draft reviews are not sent to authors, publishers, or brands for editing or approval before publication.

Sharing

If your item is reviewed, I encourage you to make the most of it by sharing the review with your readers, customers, and community. A review’s existence does not guarantee readership, so proactive sharing is always valuable.

Return of Review Items

Unless otherwise agreed in advance, items received for review cannot be returned.
