This piece was originally written for the organ of St John’s Northgate Methodist Church, Gloucester, which ironically, has no trumpet stop. It does, however, have an effective oboe stop which I used when playing this piece. All organs are different, and I encourage you to experiment and adapt as necessary.
The organ at St John’s Northgate was built by Peter Conacher & Co. in 1892, restored and rebuilt by John Coulson in 1973. A full specification can be found in the National Pipe Organ Register.
